Dreamweaver upload settings (FTP)

  1. Open your Dreamweaver application, click on 'Site' and then select 'New Site.'
  2. as Site Name and can choose any name you like.
  3. Next, click on 'Servers' on the left-hand side of the interface.
  4. Click the '+' button to add a new server.
  5. As Server name, enter anything you like. This is just for you to remember the server. 
  6. Next, you'll connect using FTP. In the 'Host' area, use ftp.yourdomainame.com (replace yourdomainname.com with your OWN domain name.
  7. The 'Root Directory' would be public_html for your main domain OR for addon domains, use youraddondomain.com ( replace youraddondomain.com with the actuall website you want to upload to)
  8. Next, you'll enter your FTP username and password. For simplicity sake, for now, just use your main cPanel username/password.
    However, you can setup a dedicated FTP account under FTP accounts in your cPanel:

  9. Click 'More Options' and then click 'Use Passive FTP.'
  10. Save this information and then connect.
